It's been a while since we updated this site since we have been locked up in the studio for a while. Our new full-length record "Howl and Filth" is in the process of being mastered as we speak by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East. We couldn't be happier with the final outcome. We will be posting a ton of new updates in the next 2 weeks, so keep checking back!
We are scheduled to begin recording our next full length record with Kurt Ballou at God City Studios on November 23. We will spending 7 days with him tracking and mixing this effort. We are very excited to be working with him to capture our vision of where we are at musically right now. We are almost finished writing and will resume playing shows in the very near future once the writing process is finished.
We are currently hard at work writing for our next record. We hope to have some demos of some sort posted soon of the things we've been working on. We also recently released a 4 way split cd titled "Peacecreature" which has two new songs on it. You can stream the whole thing at www.peacecreature.com and check it out before you order it. In the meantime, we have a new online store open with t-shirts and cd's and they are CHEAP. You should check that out.
Just a quick update that we have some "local" shows coming up soon including one this Saturday in Johnson City, TN with Engineer and Tides. It's all-ages and it starts early at 7:00 p.m., so it should be a really great time. Please come and join us if you live anywhere near that part of the world.
We arrived back home from our summer mini-tour safely and met some really awesome people while on the road. Big thanks to our old friends in The Disappeared and Why Intercept? for sharing their stage with us and being so hospitable and thanks to Justin in Chicago for saving us with a last minute house show on our day off. It is greatly appreciated!!! We recently posted a video of us performing "Yearning" at our show in St. Louis on YouTube that you can check out here.
We are currently hard at work in our rehearsal space writing material for our next full-length record. Everything thus far is sounding much more aggressive and primal than our previous output. Thanks for listening and keep your eyes and ears peeled for more news very soon.
It's been a while since we've updated the site, but only because we have been extremely busy as of late. First of all, we would like to welcome our new bass player Travis Kammeyer to the ranks of the band. Travis has been a close friend for many years and is a very prolific and talented musician. You may notice his name from the liner notes of our last two records which he engineered. We are very excited to be playing music with him and the ideas and enthusiasm he has brought to the table already are very refreshing and has certainly brought a new energy to the band.
We are currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on a new song for a 4 way split CD titled "Peacecreature". "Peacecreature" will feature Dormia, Ocoai and Panzer all 3 of which are from the East Tennessee region and good friends of ours. It should be out sometime later this summer on Missing Words Records. Ocoai also features Travis Kammeyer on guitar. You can check them out at www.myspace.com/ocoai. We will post a sample on our MySpace page as soon as it is completed.
We have been hard at work the last few months on writing new material for some upcoming projects we have on the horizon. We will post more about those when the details become more solidified. Also, we are currently booking a short run of dates through the Midwest and North East U.S. in June. We will be touring alongside our brother band I Need Closure, which features B.J. and Josh of Generation of Vipers. We are having some trouble confirming some of the dates, so if you think you can help then please contact us on MySpace account which is www.myspace.com/generationofvipers. We'll post the tour dates here as soon as they all get confirmed. Hope to see some of you there!
Just a quick update to let everyone know about the new project that B.J. and I have been working on for the last 6 months or so called I Need Closure. The new I Need Closure record titled "Uneasy Listening" is out now and available through www.interpunk.com and it will be available for digital download through all major online retailers and www.downloadpunk.com on November 18th. We are working on an online store right now (I know we've been talking about this forever now. We PROMISE it's coming soon.) so you can order Vipers and I Need Closure merch directly through us. We'll have T-shirts and all sorts of other stuff for purchase through the online store as well, so check back often for updates. You can listen to three tracks from the I Need Closure record at www.myspace.com/ineedclosuretn. More to come soon, so stay tuned.
Both of our records are now finally available as digital downloads through all major online digital music retailers including Rhapsody, eMusic, iTunes, Napster and Amazon. They are still available through www.downloadpunk.com as well. If you previously tried to purchase them through www.downloadpunk.com and were unable to find them, everything should now be fixed and working properly again.
Things have been quiet in the vipers camp for the last couple of months. Rest assured everything is as it should be, we have just been taking some time to tend to our personal lives for a bit, but we are now back in the rehearsal space and working towards some new material and getting back into the groove of performing live again. You will hear some new noise from us soon. There is a lot of life left in this beast. Believe it.
